Why make a homemade juice?

Making fresh juices from scratch is a great way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into our diet. This natural juice with beets, oranges and carrots is a great way to achieve that. It’s good for you and your body.

Plus:

  1. It’s not easy to find a good quality 100% pure juice.
  2. Good quality juices tend to be expensive.
  3. You might not be happy with flavors that are available
  4. Many of them will still contain preservatives.

And, if drinking water is not your thing, but you still want to drink the good stuff, juicing vegetables and fruits is a great option. Or, try making infused waters!

Just note that you will need to stir the honey well as it does not melt easily when added to cold beverages.

Expert tips

  • Always clean your juicer right away! The sooner you clean it the shorter time you will need to do it!
  • You can save some of the pulp and add it back to the juice, if you wish.
  • Homemade juices lose some of their nutrients when exposed to light, time, heat or air. That is why it is always best to drink them as soon as possible. It can also depend on the type of juicer you have.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to peel beetroot before juicing?

Yes, they should be peeled. You want the best taste. You would not eat their skin, so you don’t want to drink it either.

Is it OK to juice raw beets?

Yes. You do not have to cook them before juicing them. In fact, the juice will taste better this way.

Can I use the stems and greens?

No. These are rather bitter so discard those!
